Rabotnicki is part of the second Club Summit of CAFE

Rabotnicki Football Club continues its mission – to care for and assist people with disabilities and socially vulnerable categories of citizens for their inclusion and equal participation in football. Our club was the only representative of Macedonian football at the CAFE Second Club Summit, held in Leipzig, Germany, side by side with the European giants Barcelona, Milan, Atletico, Celtic, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Manchester City….

“After the first club summit in January this year, we as a club started to work deeper in this field. Our club has made excellent contacts with several associations and organizations throughout Macedonia that actively care for people with disabilities. Just to show how much we have achieved in this area, before the first club summit, FC Rabotnicki was followed by only two fans with disabilities. From January to October this year, we already have 64 fans with disabilities attending Rabotnicki football club matches, and some of them have actively participated in the football game, ”said Ognen Velevski, who is FC Disability Access Officer (DAO).

This year the Special Olympics  team of Macedonia used the training grounds of the Academy of the Training Club, the Associations Lastovica, Crick and DUFOR “Partenija Zografski” were active participants in the football of the first historical match of PMFL between Rabotnicki and Academija Pandev, collecting the balls. A series of activities were held to raise awareness of the inclusion of different types of disability in the football game of our club matches, and together with the same associations we were attending the qualification matches of the national team of Macedonia.

“At this meeting we discussed topics that were more of a concern to fans with disabilities, who were telling their impressions of the stadiums they were hosting across Europe, and giving us very important first-hand information on how it all works at European stadiums. Workers on this subject boast that they play their home matches in one of the best-built and equipped arenas in Europe, a stadium that offers many opportunities for adequate monitoring of the football game of persons with disabilities“, said Ognen Velevski.

This club summit was a great opportunity for FC Rabotnicki to strengthen the already established relations with the clubs that were linked to the First CAFE Club Summit in Barcelona in January. Now the club has friends in clubs such as Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Celtic, Hearts, Club Bruges, Slovan Liberec, Levadia, Dinamo Zagreb, Russian Football Federation, Spanish Football Federation, as well as the Football Federations of Estonia, Northern Ireland and Malta.
