Phenomenal victory over the champions

Rabotnicki claimed two victories in a row for the first time this season after our team won all three points in the city derby against Vardar (3-1). Our win is totally deserved, as Rabotnicki created more chances than the reigning champion and put three goals in the net, as result of much better offensive play since Goran Stankovski took over as head coach.

The “reds” took the lead in the 17. minute when Rasho crossed from the right site, and Junior didn’t make any mistake with a fine shot from eight meters, putting the ball past Gacevski. Gofry also had a chance, but his shot from 16 meters finished just wide. Vardar tried to equalize, but the city rivals missed their best chance when Maksimov first missed the entire ball, it came down to Nikolov, but his shot went high above the post.

Rabotnicki had two great chances in the second half, first Gacevski saved from Stjepanovic and then Velinov missed a header from ideal position after a cross from Rasho. Vardar equalized in the 70. minute from Blazevski’s penalty,

After just three minutes we took the lead once more, Blazevski handled the ball in the area and Stjepanovic was spot on from the penalty. The third goal was scored by our substitute, the young Mile Todorov, who didn’t have difficult task to head the ball in the empty net after a cross from the right by Junior.
